The Great Commission: A Christian Woman’s Job

Did you know that once you accepted Christ into your heart and as your Lord, you now have a job? You are now an employee of the Most High God with the most important task ever; to tell about and lead others to Christ. Matthew 28:18-20 in the New Living Translation states, Jesus came and told his disciples, "I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.  And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

This marks the ends of Jesus' ministry on earth and the establishment of His church.  We are instructed to go out into the world and share the good news of Jesus Christ.  You are not saved for only your benefit.  The gift of salvation was given first to a few and spread to many.  Think about it: Jesus started with 12 disciples, He taught them, they walked with Him and that message has been passed down and spread for a thousand generations till now.  If you take a look at the book of Acts the first century church had such zeal to share Christ, many were added to the church daily. They were determined to share the good news of Jesus Christ, even to the point of death.  As believers it is time for us to not only go to church, but become the church within ourselves.  During bible days, the church was the body of believers not the building itself.

It is God's will that none shall perish (See 2 Peter 3:9).  He never created Hell for humans but for Satan and his fallen angels.  It is our job as Christian women to share the good news of Christ.  I once read somewhere that 90% of Christians have never led anyone to Christ, that's SAD.  Seriously, most of us that wear the title of Christian are not doing our jobs.  When was the last time you asked someone if they would like to ask Christ into their life? What's stopping you? Are you afraid? Or Are you not sure how?

I can relate to both fear and lack of knowledge, but neither is an excuse. God did not grant us the spirit of fear and He promised to be with us wherever we go.  Also, the bible gives us the information needed to lead someone to Christ.  Here are the three steps to explain the process to become born again.

Recognize and admit that you are a sinner. (Psalm 51:5)

Explain that because of the fall of Adam and Eve that every man born after that was born into sin. (Genesis 3)

Repent of your sins. (1 John 1:9)

True repentance is having a change of heart and change of mind towards God.

Confess Jesus as Lord. (Romans 10:9-10)

Memorize these steps and scriptural references.  Be prepared for an opportunity to tell someone about Christ.  "....he who is wise captures human lives [for God, as a fisher of men-he gathers and receives them for eternity]” (Proverbs 11:20 AMP).  Let's all become wise women of God and bring others to Christ, keeping in mind The Great Commission is a Christian Woman's Job.
