Every authentic man of God wants a Proverbs 31 woman (P31). This woman was the total package, she was well balanced in all areas of her life. She cooked and cleaned even though she had servants. (Proverbs 31: 15) She sewed, even though she had maids. This woman was also well dressed. I am not kidding. The scriptures mention her clothing 5 times and it also states, "she dresses in fine linens and purple gowns." (Proverbs 31:22) This lady had style!
She worked really hard and did not partake in idleness or discontent. There was not a lazy bone in her body. (Proverbs 31:19) She gave to the poor and had no fear of what the future held for her family. (Proverbs 31:20-21) The Proverbs 31 woman was also a woman of business acumen. She sold her garments in the merchant place for a profit. (Proverbs 31: 24) She was also very careful with her words, knowing how to bring correction in love.
The qualities of this woman seem like an impossible, unobtainable goal. But the source of all of her achievements was her reverence for God. She loved Him more than anything else. It was His strength that allowed her to balance all of the things He had entrusted her with. Begin to study Proverbs 31: 10-31, and ask God to show you how to transform into a P31. Make a table with different headings such as home, work, finance, spiritual, relational, etc and write down what the Holy Spirit shows you.
Understand that this is not an overnight process, but rather a lifelong process. It is hard work but the results will be well worth it. Follow the examples of Esther, Ruth and the Proverbs 31 woman and become a treasure; so that when you are found by your king, your Boaz his life will attract instant favor (Proverbs 18:22) and your marriage will glorify God!
